My Favorite Free Resources for New Copywriters

When I first decided I wanted to become a freelance copywriter, I was discouraged by the fact that many of the popular ebooks and training courses written by renowned copywriters were WAY out of my budget range. It can be daunting to invest in $100+ training courses out of your own pocket, especially when you are not making any money through your own business yet. Luckily, many of the copywriters who publish these popular ebooks also offer various free resources for aspiring copywriters. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Copyblogger.com – 15 ebooks + a 20-part copywriting course

As soon as you register your name and email with Copyblogger, you gain access to a library full of fantastic free copywriting content. Copyblogger is a great place to start if you want to learn the basics about SEO, content creation, Internet marketing, and more. There are enough resources here to keep you busy reading for months.

Copy Hackers – 120-page persuasion guide + 7-part copy mini-course

I’ll admit, I’m slightly obsessed with Joanna Wiebe and her über popular copywriting blog, Copy Hackers. Copy Hackers offers resources for days, from ebooks to business bootcamp courses. When you sign up for the email list, you get the Copy Hackers 30 Days of Persuasion ebook and a copywriting mini course sent directly to your inbox. The cool thing about free resources is that if you love them, you can always invest in a paid ebook by the same author later on. Wiebe’s flawless balance between sassy and informative make me think I will probably purchase more of her ebooks down the road.

If ebooks and full-on training courses aren’t your thing, there are TONS of blogs out there that constantly pump out new posts on everything copywriting related. Along with Copyblogger and Copy Hackers, I recommend checking these guys out:

The Creative Copywriter
ABC Copywriting
Content Marketing Institute
